AFSSA™ assessments will be delivered through a structured assessment and delivery framework.
During the development phase, assessments will be carried out by experienced commercial flooring specialists operating under AFSSA™ guidance and reporting standards.
As the framework progresses, additional regional delivery partners will be introduced in line with AFSSA™ competency and governance requirements.
AFSSA™ Approved Contractors will form part of our regional delivery network, ensuring consistent standards across the UK.
How the Delivery Model Will Operate
AFSSA™ will operate as an independent, industry-led framework.
AFSSA™ will define the assessment criteria, methodology, documentation standards, and certification thresholds used to evaluate flooring safety, condition and hygiene risk.
Delivery specialists will carry out on-site inspections in accordance with AFSSA™ guidance.
All findings will be documented and reviewed against defined criteria.
Certification decisions will be based solely on documented assessment evidence, independent of any remedial works undertaken.
AFSSA™ Approved Contractors
AFSSA™ works with approved regional contractors to deliver local expertise while maintaining consistent standards.
AFSSA™ Approved Contractors are companies reviewed against current standards for installation, repair, and floor safety.
They carry out repair and installation works only and do not undertake AFSSA™ assessments.
Contractors may be recommended following an independent AFSSA™ assessment.

Independence & Certification
AFSSA™ operates as an independent standard-setting framework.
Assessment and certification decisions are based solely on documented evidence and defined AFSSA™ criteria.
AFSSA™ assessors operate independently of contractors, and approved contractors do not carry out AFSSA™ assessments.
Certification reflects conditions at the time of inspection and is not influenced by any remedial works or commercial arrangements.
Network Expansion
AFSSA™ intends to expand its regional delivery capability as the framework progresses beyond development phase.
Future delivery partners will be appointed based on defined competency, reporting, and independence standards.
AFSSA™ Approved status is based on an initial review and alignment with current standards. It does not replace statutory accreditation, certification, or legal compliance requirements.
